The digital optical measuring system OMS of the tamping robot 4.0
The Tamping Robot 4.0 does not use steel cord systems but a patented optical measuring system with high-resolution fast digital cameras with image evaluation and LED transmitter units at the chord ends. The system is fault-tolerant and self-monitoring and simultaneously measures direction, height and the transverse heights on all three measuring carriages.
At the rear end of the measurement system is the inertial navigation measurement carriage.
In addition to scanning the longitudinal height of both rails, the direction and the transverse height (five degrees of freedom), the inertial measuring unit is characteristic.
