Currently, in many European countries, the tracks on poles are absolutely marketed. Before tamping machines are used, the track is pre-measured in order to determine the track correction values. This process is labor-intensive and costly. With the development of a real-time kinematic satellite measuring system (IMU-RTK-GNSS) supported by an inertial navigation system, absolute satellite coordinates take the place of the track marking points (GVP).
