Track geometry computer - approval recorder
S7 CEO++
PRECISION IN PERFECTION – TRACK GEOMETRY DESIGNED DIGITALLY
The CEO++ track geometry computer is the heart of modern tamping machines from system7 and sets new standards in digital track maintenance. It combines high-precision measurement technology, intelligent software, and an intuitive operating concept to ensure maximum quality in new construction and maintenance work—documented, verifiable, and fully compliant with standards.
In addition to its use in system7 machines, the CEO++ is also successfully integrated into tamping machines from other manufacturers.
It thus replaces conventional track geometry computers and acceptance recorders, bringing their technology to the new digital level of the system7 platform. This allows existing machines to benefit from state-of-the-art measurement, control, and documentation technology—for greater precision, efficiency, and future-proofing in track construction.
FUNCTION AND PURPOSE OF USE
The CEO++ is used for the quality control and documentation of tamping work.
It records all relevant track parameters to ensure compliance with specified tolerance limits in accordance with national and European standards. The system automatically generates the acceptance report, which serves as digital proof of quality—a key document for infrastructure operators, construction companies, and testing institutes.
During the work assignment, CEO++ visualizes all essential parameters in real time. This allows the tamping quality to be continuously monitored and optimized. Upon completion of the work, all measurement data is available digitally—exportable as a PDF or integrable into operational data platforms.
INTUITIVE OPERATION
AND WORKFLOW
The Job Manager is used to create, execute, and save work orders. The software guides the user through the entire process in a structured manner—from creating a work order, through performing the tamping work, to generating the acceptance report.
Thanks to clear menu navigation, predefined standard values, and automatic checks, the entire process becomes efficient, transparent, and error-resistant.
A typical work process includes:
- Creating or loading a work order
- Performing the tamping work or measurement run
- Exporting and archiving the acceptance report
VISUALIZATION IN REAL TIME
In operating mode, CEO++ offers two main views: the Head-Up Display and the acceptance recorder.
The Head-Up Display shows the perspective view of the target geometry, the position of the tamping units, target and actual values, as well as correction previews for the next 100 meters. The display of the synchro cameras and markers further facilitates alignment and monitoring of the work.
The system supports automatic, semi-automatic, and manual correction modes.
Depending on the situation, the operator can therefore freely decide whether to let the work be controlled fully automatically or to make targeted manual interventions.
CERTIFICATE OF ACCEPTANCE
AND QUALITY CERTIFICATE
All data recorded during tamping operations—such as alignment, longitudinal level, superelevation, twist, or uplift—is continuously recorded by the inspection recorder.
These values are visualized in diagrams and documented in the digital inspection report (PDF).
Exceedances of limit values are automatically detected and logged.
Markers, e.g., for switch beginnings, welds, or synchronization points, can be set automatically or manually and are also included in the inspection report.
This results in a complete digital quality record that can be used for both internal documentation and external inspections.
TRACK SURVEY AND TRACK GEOMETRY OPTIMIZATION
A survey run can be used to record the current track alignment without the need for tamping work.
The data is then processed using the Track Geometry Optimization module.
This automatically calculates target geometries, lifting, and displacement values based on the actual alignment.
Specific areas—such as railroad crossings or bridges—can be individually defined and taken into account in the calculation. An integrated curve editor enables interactive editing of curvature, superelevation, and elevation.
The changes are calculated in real time and immediately applied to the visualization.
The result: an optimized, practical target geometry that can be directly applied to the next tamping operation.
