Full hydraulic tamping drive - conversion kit
S7 HTD XX 4.0
THE WHISPER-QUIET TAMPING DRIVE
THAT ONLY VIBRATES DURING PENETRATION AND COMPACTION
LOW MAINTENANCE COSTS
AND QUICK AMORTISATION
The full hydraulic tamping drive makes rotating parts like eccentric shaft, roller bearings, piston rods, hydraulic motor, fly wheel and tamping flaps obsolete. Additionally, the tamping drive only vibrates during insertion and compaction of the ballast – the rest of the tamping cycle it stands still.
SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION OF
NOISE AND DUST
Since the tamping drive vibrates only during insertion and tamping, this results in a reduction in continuous sound level of more than 7 dBA as well as a 50% reduction in fine dust emissions. The fully hydraulic tamping drive sets new standards in track construction.
INTELLIGENT PENETRATION ASSISTANT
As the tamping unit penetrates the upper ballast, its amplitude and frequency are variably controlled electronically. This feature was developed for hard ballast conditions and reduces penetration forces to protect the tamping machine.
S7 AUTOMATIC TAMPING FOR
OPTIMUM COMPACTION
The fully hydraulic tamping unit is equipped with integrated displacement sensors and pressure sensors, which, in the S7 automatic tamping system, individually terminate the tamping process once the optimal compaction force has been reached. Optimal compaction of the ballast extends the service life of the track bed.
BALLAST BED ANALYSIS WITH SYSTEM7
INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT WEB PLATFORM "INFRAME"
Each individual tamping cylinder is controlled independently and records data on the achieved ballast compaction, the ballast bed hardness, and the tamping stroke. From this, the ballast bed quality index is derived. The information is automatically transmitted, along with GPS coordinates and a photo of the sleeper’s surroundings, to the web platform “INFRAME”, where the tamping operation is displayed on a map.
Full hydraulic tamping drive - conversion-kit
Available for single-threshold, double-threshold, and triple-threshold tamping units.
It’s time to upgrade your tamping machine!
The tamping drive conversion kit is available for most conventional tamping units and offers the advantage of fully hydraulic tamping technology, including the S7 automatic tamping mode and ballast bed analysis.
The following video shows an example of a system7 tamping drive conversion kit that has been installed in a Plasser & Theurer tamping machine.
Easy installation
The existing tamping box is only stripped of its mechanical vibration drive so that the new fully hydraulic system7 tamping drive can be installed. Once the hydraulic supply has been adjusted, the supplied electronic control unit is connected.
Start saving money now
The combination of fewer wear parts, reduced wear due to downtime outside the ballast (up to 70% less vibration per tamping cycle), and quick, easy on-site maintenance reduces maintenance and service costs.
EXISTING permits REMAIN VALID
These modifications do not affect the approval requirements for the transport of railway vehicles by rail in any way. There is no difference in the operating permit; the tamping frequency and amplitude remain unchanged during the tamping process.
